The Next Stop Is
You’re on a subway train. You don’t know how you got here. You’re not sure you’re awake. Seven stops. Seven strangers. Something about their faces will tell you how to get home, as long as you’re paying attention.
The Next Stop Is is a solo RPG played with a deck of cards and a sketchpad. At each stop, cards drawn from the deck determine the features of whoever just boarded and prompt you to fill in bits of their story. By the end of the ride you'll have seven portraits, seven names, and a glimpse at seven lives.
But the drawing is only part of it.
The real puzzle is in the absences. The cards you drew shaped the faces you made, and the cards you didn't draw are quietly telling you something. Study what you sketched. Think about what's missing. The right train home is hidden somewhere in the gaps.
One player, one deck of cards, a sketchpad and something to draw with and one to three hours, depending on how long you linger. Each physical copy of the game comes with the printed rules, a playmat, and a token from one of the many metro systems around the US.
