Meet Jeremy

I didn't intend to make physical copies of The Sylvan, but as things are wont to do, a small idea snowballed into something greater.

It started with the holidays. I had just digitally published The Sylvan and wanted to give some physical copies to friends. Now, if you've had anything printed lately, you know just how expensive it is. And for a 48 page, full-color book? In this economy? Yikes! After shopping around, I discovered that the cheapest way to do it was to put on my DIY hat, buy a printer, a really long stapler and a bunch of fresh X-acto blades.

These initial copies of The Sylvan came out a lot cooler than I thought they would, so I decided to make a few more for my Friendly Local Game Store. And when those sold out, I printed even more. It really was like going back to my old 'zine days, but with better gear. Well, mostly better gear. You see, I don't bounce back from a long night of trimming pages by hand like I used to in college. Enter what I'm calling "bookbinder tendonitis".

So an alternative to X-actos was needed. After a lot of research, I found this beauty which I have named Jeremy after the delivery driver who had to haul all 40 pounds of it up my driveway. Jeremy is a beast. Jeremy might remove one of my fingers if I'm not properly respectful (or caffeinated), but mostly, Jeremy makes the process of "artisanal RPGs" a whole lot easier.
